Provider will assist with teaching individual to be dressed appropriately before he goes outside (socks, shoes, coat, etc.) and will verbally prompt him to alert natural supports before going outside and to put on his socks and shoes before going outside, as well as any weather appropriate apparel.

Person uses gestures, some words and an iPad with Proloquo2go communication app to communicate with others. He will mainly repeat words or phrases but doesn’t typically use his words to initiate communication. Person will smile and laugh when he likes something. When he dislikes something, he will push it away or walk away. He will bring an item to someone if he needs help.

Help the individual when they get overwhelmed and assist them through what steps to take if necessary. Assist individual with developing a grocery list as well as transportation to and from groceries or food pantries. Assist individual with maintaining and transportation to and from necessary appointments. Assist individual with keeping the environment of their home clean. Individual lives on their own in a new apartment and might need assistance with deciding what is needed for the apartment. Assist the individual in finding community events that he can attend, especially sports related activities. Individual is working toward being more independent so try to be as hands off as possible while still directing them on what needs to be done.
