Meet at Rising Park for storytime! Stories, songs, and more. Look for the library flag on the hill near the playground parking lot and bring something to sit on.

In the event of bad weather, storytime will move to the Main Library, Second Floor.

10 am and 12 pm to explore bubbles, sidewalk chalk, and a
variety of self-directed sensory activities in our garden (weather
permitting.) This year we will have big blue stackable blocks for
endless construction fun. These blocks are great for pretend
play, role-playing, and inventing your own games.

This event is supported by the State Library of Ohio with federal funds from
the Institute of Museum and Library Services.

This event is presented by The Cultural Competency Group of Lancaster, made up of Destination Downtown Lancaster, Fairfield County Heritage Association, the DEIB Committee of Lancaster Fairfield County Chamber of Commerce, The Fairfield County District Library, the Black Interest Group, and Lancaster City Community Development.

What's your Superpower? Family Event

Amy Bockerstette, an accomplished amateur golfer and advocate, will be sharing her stories on how determination and confidence played a vital role in her success in both golf and life. She is the first person with Down syndrome to receive an athletic scholarship to attend college. Her family will join in and discuss their unwavering support and empowerment towards Amy's achievements. We invite you to bring along your entire family. Fairfield DD will be providing child care and respite during the event.

This is a free event open to all but to help us plan, please register by March 10th.

Disability Day of Mourning Gathering

“If we don’t acknowledge the truth, we cannot reconcile the hurt – or prevent its repeat.”

Gather with us to mourn people with disabilities throughout history who lost their lives at the hands of caregivers to commemorate Disability Day of Mourning. We will meet at the Fairfield County Infirmary Cemetery on State Route 37.

Please reference the image below for correct entrance and parking information upon arrival.

What to expect when you arrive:
—The cemetery is on the south side of the old County Poorhouse also know as the Clarence E. Miller building or old County Health Department.
—The parking lot and cemetery are not well maintained so accessibility may be limited.
—The event will be held outside without cover so check the weather to plan accordingly.
